Michelstadt, Germany

Michelstadt was first mentioned in 741 by  Mayor of the Palace Carloman, who was Charlemagne's uncle. This makes the town one of the oldest settlements in the central Odenwald. Michelstadt has a picturesque old town, with lots of historic half-timbered houses, the most famous among them is the old town hall on Market Square, built in 1484.
