Gunung Kawi - Temple set in a Ravine, Indonesia

Carved into the face of rock cliff, overlooking the sacred river of  Pakerisan and set in a breathtaking landscape on the island of Bali, there is a complex of 10 shrines, up to 7 meters high. Legends tell, that these shrines are dedicated to King Udayana of Bali and his favourite queens and concubines. 

The complex, which dates back to the 11th century, stayed forgotten and hidden in its green valley until 1920.

Borobudur Temple, Indonesia (UNESCO)

The 9th century temple of Borobodur in Indonesia is the largest Buddhist monument in existance.  It is decorated wtih 2672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. It was built in the 9th century. In 1991 it was inscribed into the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, during the 15th session of the UNESCO Committee.

The Dani Tribe lives in the remote Baliem Valley of Irian Jaya, New Guinea. The tribe is one of the most populous in the highlands of Western New Guinea.

The Karimunjawa Archipelago is located in the Java Sea, north of Java, and consists of 27 islands. Karimunjawa is popular among tourists for its beautiful white beaches, crystal clear water and pristine coral reefs.

Wonderful sunset view of the Candi Dasa Lagoon on Bali, Indonesia. Candi Dasa is a seaside town in the east of Bali and a popular tourist place with the long white sandy beach and swaying palm trees.

This card shows a Dani Man from Papua Province in Indonesia. This one looks rather impressive, but to be honest I would not want to meet him in the dark walking the forest all on my own :)
