Petra, Jordan (UNESCO)
Seeing this absolutely breathtaking place with my own eyes, was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
The historical city of Petra, Jordan, nicknamed Rose City, because of the colour of the stone, once was the capital of the Nabataen Kingdom. The city is famous for its rock cut architecture and was inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985. In an inofficial but widely recognized vote, Petra was named one of the 7 New Wonders of the World.
I sent this card home to my parents in law, who of course returned it to me for my collection :)
