The Amphitheatre of El Jem in Tunisia was built in 238 by Proconsul Gordian and had room for 35,000 spectators. It was mainly used for gladiator games and chariot races.
In 1979 it was inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Great multiview showing images of Port el Kantaoui in Tunisia sent by Jane Thomas.  It was built in 1979 as a tourist place around a big artificial harbour. The architecture is modern but with a certain touch of the local style.

Habib Bourguiba Mausoleum, Monastir, Tunisia

This card shows the beautiful Mausoleum of Tunisias first president Habib Bourguiba in Monastir. Lots of streets, avenues and places were named after him as a sign of gratitude.
The card was sent by Elke,  a former collegue of mine
