Atlantis Launch

This card shows the launch of 66th Space Shuttle Mission. The Atlantis completed 33 missions and a total of 156 individuals flew into to outer space with it. By the end of its final mission on July 21, 2011 Atlantis had orbited earth 4,848 times.

Gorgeous postcard showing the lift off of Space Shuttle Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Atlantis was built in 1985 and undertook her last flight in July 2011, delivering supplies to the Internation Space Station ISS.

International Space Station

This card I received from Rod Eime quite a while ago, it is still one of my favourite space postcards :) The ISS is the ninth space station to be inhabited. Its first components were launched into space in 1998. It has been continuously inhabited now for about 12 years and thus exceeded the record of the Russian space station MIR.
