The 9th century
temple of Borobodur in Indonesia is the largest Buddhist monument in existance. It is decorated wtih 2672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. It was built in the 9th century. In 1991 it was inscribed into the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, during the 15th session of the UNESCO Committee.
