Bruges, Markt Square and Parliament Palace, Belgium

Bruges or Brugge is the capital of the province of West Flanders in the North West of Belgium. The old centre is surrounded by a ring of canals which connect Bruges to the sea and thus has always secured prosperity and wealth for the city. International merchants turned Bruges into one of the largest Hanse Cities. Much of its medieval heritage is still fully intact and boasts a lot of beautiful small streets and historically important buildings, like the Parliament Palace at Market Square, as shown on the postcard, both part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Centre of Brugge".
