Salt Lake City, Assembly Hall and Temple, Utah, USA

This postcard shows two of the main buildings in Salt Lake City, capital of Utah, both owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. On the left, there is Assembly Hall, which has a seating capacity for 1,400 people. Construction began in 1877 and was finally completed in 1882. The building is designed in the then very popular Victorian Gothic style.
On the right you can see the spires of Salt Lake Temple. Construction of this massive building took about 40 years. It was dedicated in April 1893.
Thank you Judy Andreason for this beautiful postcard !
