This postcard shows the equestrial statue of King Mathias which is located on the square in front of St. Michael's Church. King Mathias was born in Cluj in February 1443 and became king of Hungary and Croatia at the age of 14. until his death in 1490. After several military campaigns he also became king of Bohemia.
