Kemi is situated at the Bothnian Bay in the Lapland region of Finland. It was founded by royal decree in 1869 because of its proximity to a deep water harbour.
Each year the famous snow castle is built there with hotel, restaurant and chapel, as can be seen on the card. The architecture varies from year to year.
The great card, which also shows a mapcard of Finland, was sent by Marianna (Elenna) for the Favourites Tag on Postcrossing.
