Eifel National Park, Germany
My parents sent me this beautiful card from a trip to the Eifel National Park in Northrhine Westphalia close to the Belgian borrder. It is the 14th National park in Germany to be established (January 2004) and includes vast forests and at least 75% of the park's area is not to be touched by humans for 30 years and left to develop naturally.
Located within the park is also the former Vogelsang Military Training Area which is now run by the Belgian armed forces and used by NATO troops. It was opened to the public on January 1, 2006.
