Jules Verne's Home in Amiens, France



Beautiful view of the house where French author Jules Verne lived in Amien, France, from 1882 till 1900.

Potala Palace, Tibet, China (UNESCO)



Until 1959, when the 14th Dalai Lama fled Tibet for India in the Tibetan Uprising, Potala Palace was the Dalai Lama's chief residence. In 1994 it was inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage list with extensions in 2000 and 2001.

San Diego Zoo, California, USA



Susan Pierce sent me this postcard of the San Diego Zoo for the WiP Zoo Swap. The Zoo opened its doors for the first time in 1916 and houses over 3,700 animals of moren than 650 species, It is considered one of the greatest zoos in the world.

HM Queen Máxima of the Netherlands



Beautiful picture of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. Actually she was still princess back when the picture was taken on Prince's Day 2012.

Sao Vicente mapcard, Cape Verde



This mapcard of the Island of Sao Vicente, Cape Verde, I sent myself during our cruise last year. The island was discovered on Saint Vincent day (hence its name) January 22, 1462.
Our ship stayed in the harbour of Mindelo and we took a really interesting trip across the island.

Rose Davenport sent me this great card for the WiP Literature Swap, showing Margaret Mitchell, author of the world famous novel "Gone with the Wind". The novel won several distinguished prizes.

Mount Fuji, Japan (UNESCO)



This awesome postcard I received from Zan for the WiP September General Swap.
Mount Fuji was inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2013. It is the highest mountain of Japan and located on Honshu Island. The last eruptions dates back to 1707-08.
