Batad Rice Terraces, Banaue, Philippines (UNESCO)


Great view of the Batad Rice Terraces sent by Romina Mislang for the WiP UNESCO Swap. The terraces were carved into the mountains by the ancestors of indigenious pleople about 2000 years ago. They are fed by an ancient irigation system, channelling water from the rainforests. Locals still plant rice and vegetables on the terraces.

Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain



Puerto del Rosario is the capital city and also the main harbour on Fuerteventura. We visited the island on our Canary Islands Cruise last year in November.

Wonderful new addition to my internation map card collection. This one was sent by Fidel Angelov for the WiP Places of Learning Swap. It shows the locations of Bulgaria's Museum cities. Unfortunately the stamp fell off somewhere on the way from Bulgaria to Germany :(

I sent this card of Timanfaya National Park on Lanzarote home to my parents from the Canary Islands cruise. Just loved this view and the colours.

The Twelve Apostles, Victoria, Australia

Tom Hoey sent me this beautiful maxicard showing the Twelve Apostles in Australia, giant limestone stacks off the coast of southern Victoria. They are a central feature of the Port Campbell National Park. The rocks were formed by erosion, some are up to 45 m high.

Park City, Utah, USA


Park City im Utah is normally known all over the world as a great winter sports place. But also in Autumn it has a lot to offer to tourists, hikers and cyclists. The beautiful fall colours really look inviting. The postcard was sent by Susan Pierce for the WiP November General Swap

Quedlinburg, Germany (UNESCO)


This beautiful postcard was sent by Rafal for the WiP Favourites Tag on Postcrossing. Quedlinburg is a city located in Saxony-Anhalt. The old town and the medieval castle were inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994.

MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA



Susan Pierce sent me this beautiful postcard showing the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is located on the Las Vegas Strip and is the thrid largest hotel in the world. There are 6852 rooms, 5 outdoor pools and a gaming zone of 15,930 square meters.

Mines View Park, Baguio City, Philippines



Nice multiview card from Romina for the WiP December General Swap. Mines View Park is one of the most popular places in Baguio City. From the observation deck the visitor has a spectacular panoramic view of the gold and copper mines as well as the surrounding landscape and mountains.

School Building in China
