Autumn in Ontario, Canada



Beautiful autumn scenery in Ontario, Canada. The card was sent by Julie Elliott for the WiP I spy a Tree Swap. I am a spring and summer person, but a golden autumn like on the card is beautiful, too. I love the rich colours and the reflection of the trees in the lake. Great choice of stamps, too !

New Orleans, French Quarter Courtyard

Vincent van Gogh - Fishing Boats on the Beach



This one is an official Postcrossing card from the United States (US-1262499). It shows a painting by Van Gogh: Fishing Boats on the Beach at Saintes-Maries, 1888.

Tatra Mountains, Poland



Wanda sent me this beautiful view of the Tatra Mountains for the WiP Mountain Swap. This mountain range forms the natural border between Poland and Slovakia and are part of the Carpaithian Mountains. The highest peak is the Gerlach with 2655 meters.

Tasty Meal :) Snake Eagle

Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Petersburg, Russia (UNESCO)


This great view of the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg, Russia came as an official Postcrossing postcard (Ru-511291) from Natalia. The Fortress is part of the UNESCO Site Historic Center of St. Petersburg and related monuments, which was inscribed into the list in 1990.

Zamosc, Poland (UNESCO)


This wonderful postcard shows the Armenian burghers' houses at the Great Market Square in Zamosc, Poland. The old city center was inscribed into the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1992. The card was sent by Wanda for the WiP Typical Swap.

Lushan Mountain, China (UNESCO)




This awesome postcard with marvellous stamps was sent by Zhong Wenhua for the WiP Mountain Swap. It shows Lushan Mountain, within UNESCO Site Lushan National Park, inscribed in 1996. According to UNESCO Mount Lushan is one of the spiritual centers of Chinese civilization.

Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence Line of Amsterdam) UNESCO



A new site for my UNESCO Collection! The Defense Line of Amsterdam. A 135 km long ring of fortifications around the city of Amsterdam, constructed between 1880 and 1920. It was inscribed into the UNESCO list in 1996. The card was sent by Geliek (christmasangel) as an official Postcrossing card, NL-745420.

Commander Spock (Leonard Nimoy)



An awesome choice of card for the WiP N-Swap. It was sent by Eduardo Martinez with a great stamp of the first spacecraft in orbit, the Mercury, too. Made it just perfect! Star Trek is one of my favourite TV shows, and Mr. Spock is sure a very fascinating character. He will have a special place in my collection :)

Fort Bragg, North Carolina, USA


This card showing Fort Bragg in North Carolina was sent by Denise (hickreenut) for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag. The Fort was named after a former US general and is known as the Home of the Airborne and Special Opterations Forces.

Lednice Multiview (UNESCO), Czech Republic



This great postcard came as an official one via Postcossing, CZ-129789, and was sent by Martina. It shows the wonderful Lednice Palace and Park, both part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Letnice-Valitice Cultural Landscape, inscribed in 1996.

Long-eared Owl


Isn't this just an awesome owl card? It was sent by Catherine (audiopineapple) for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag and shows a Long-eared Owl. The card has a great bird stamp, too.

Typical Dutch


A wonderful choice of postcard came from Mike Noordam for the WiP Typical Swap. It shows 3 Dutch Typicals: A windmill, bycicles and of course the Dutch Royals, Crown Prince Willem Alexander and his wife Crown Princess Máxima.

Royal Wedding in London

Katun River, Chuya Highway in the Altai Mountains (UNESCO)


This great card shows the lower Katun River and Aya Lake in the Altai Mountains. On the right is the Chuya Highway, the major trunk road in the Republic of Altai. It is an awsesome landscape, very inviting! The card was sent by Kate (siguanea) for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag.

Sabah Map


Awesome new mapcard for my collection! It was sent by Rod Eime from one of his many travels and shows Sabah, one of the 13 states that make up Malaysia. Sabah is often nicknamed as Land Below the Wind.

Morgan Horses


This adorbable postcard came from Cathy Dempsey for the WiP Letter M swap. The Morgan is one of the earliest horse breeds developped in the USA

Christening of Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark


This magnificent postcard came from Genek Swiech for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag. It shows the family of the Danish Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Mary at the christening of their twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. Great addition for my Royals Collection :) Tiny as the twins still are, both already have their own page on wikipedia :)

Mir Castle, Belarus (UNESCO)



This great card came as an offcial Postcrossing card from Belarus sent by Ania (BY-215904). It shows the UNESCO Site Mir Castle in the Grodno Area. Construction began in the 15th century and completed in the early 16th century.

I was really baffled to see such a huge mountain range in Australia :) The fantastic card showing Mt Buffalo in Victoria, Australia. was sent by Alison Bailey for the WiP Mountain Swap.

Maiko Girls in Daigo-ji Temple (UNESCO)



A wonderful postcard showing two Maiko Girls in the garden of Daigo-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan. The temple is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto, inscribed in 1994. The card was sent by Sumie for the WiP Typical Swap. The awesome stamps make the card an even bigger treasure :)
