Malbork Castle, Poland (UNESCO)
This postcard came as an official Postcrossing card from Magdalena (PL-236075) and shows UNESCO World Heritage Site Malbork Castle, the largest castle in the world by area. It was founded by the Teutonic Order in 1231.
Barack Obama, 44th President of the USA
Rose Davenport sent me this great postcard of President Obama for the WiP People Swap. It will make a great addition to my Politicians collection.
Costumes of Borneo
A wonderful Postcard sent by Shurbani for the WiP August General Swap. It shows different national costumes of Borneo. Borneo is the 3rd largest island in the world and divided up between three countries: Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The Pentagon
This awesome view of the Pentagon was sent by Katie (ilove2smile) for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag. It is the headquarters of the US Department of Defense and located in Arlington County, Virginia.
Fuji Maru, Japan
This official Postcrossing card came from Japan, JP-193286 and was sent by Taroh. It shows the Fuji Maru of the Nippon Charter Cruise Ltd company.

Castle Stutensee, Germany
An official Postcrossing card from Germany showing the Castle Stutensee close to Karlsruhe. The sender was a 13 year old German girl. Castle Stutensee was built in 1749 by the margrave of Baden.
Estonian Map and Coats of Arms
This great postcard came for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag from Ella (eellaa). It shows a map of Estonia with the coats of arms of the different regions of the country. Love the moose stamp :)
Mongolian Rider
I just love this postcard! It was sent by Nataly (Nat-Nut) for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag and portrays a Mongolian Rider. The card had beautiful stamps. too :)
Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands
This was an official Postcrossing postcard from the Netherlands sent by Laura. It shows the late Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, who died at the age of 94 in 2004 and her husband, the late Prince Bernhard who died also in 2004, only a few months later than his wife.
Chinese Garden
Wonderful card from Wenhua for the WiP Something Wet Swap, showing an ancient Chinese garden style. He says the park is part of a Middle School. Wish we had something like that to relax between lessons :)
Mobile, Alabama
Great view of the port of Mobile, Alabama, The Gateway to the Gulf. It was sent by Pat Schultz for the WiP Something Wet Swap. Mobile is the only seaport of Alabama.

Quedlinburg, Germany (UNESCO)
A great view of UNESCO World Heritage Site Quedlinburg in Saxonia-Anhalt, sent by Rafal for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag. The city was first mentioned in history books in 922. The Collegiate Church, Castle and Old Town were inscribed into the UNESCO List in 1994.
H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, UK
The Queen came visiting my house again :) This gorgeous card was sent by Dorothy for the Postcrossing Favourites Tag. My grandson fought me for the card, but not because of the queen, he wanted the Percy stamp :) But I won! I blackmailed him with a Carz Surprise Egg :)
Nisswa Historic Museum, Minnesota
This lovely postcard shows the Nisswa Historic Museum in Minnesota, USA. The builiding is a restored caboose and railway depot. It was sent by Ruth Smith for the WiP N-Swap.
The Boathouse at Smith College, Northampton, Massachussetts
I just love the colours of this postcard ! It was sent by Donna for the WiP August General Swap and shows the Boathouse at Paradise Pond, Smith College. The boathouse was built in 1911 and was once the center of Prom & Commencement weekends. Today it is used for instructional classes on rowing, sculling and kayaking.

The Legion of Honor, San Francisco
The Legion of Honor, or the California Palace of the Legion of Honor is a Fine Arts Museum, located in Lincoln Park in San Francisco. It houses a collection of ancient and European Art spanning over 6000 years. Sounds like a very intersting place to visit. The postcard was sent by Eduardo Martinez for the WiP August General Swap.
Fishing in the Deep, Moricetown, B.C., Canada
Donna went to great efforts to get this card which was sent for the WiP People Swap. It shows a local native catching fish in the Bulkley River. Looks interesting and also dangerous to me :)
Kagay-An Festival, Philippines
Great colourful postcard for the WiP People Swap showing the Kagay-An Festival in the Philippines sent by our new member Ruby Ricafrente. This Festival is held every year in August in honour of patron saint St. Augustine in Cagayan de Oro.
British Columbia Map Card, Canada
Another great addition for my mapcard collection :) This one shows British Columbia, the westernmost Canadian province and was sent by Donna for the WiP August Lottery Game.
Huangshan Mountain, China (UNESCO)
This gorgeous card came for the WiP Mountain Swap from Yueyin. It shows Mount Huangshan UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China's major tourist destinations. It was inscribed in 1990 and translated its name means Yellow Mountain.
Canadian Rockies (UNESCO)
This postcard showing Marmot Basin in Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies came from Coleen Bryant for the WiP Mountain Swap. Jasper National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was inscribed in 1984 together with a number of other Canadian National Parks as Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks. Marmot Basin is an Alpine Ski Area within this Heritage Site.
Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall
The best cards often come unexpectedly :) This one, showing the Democracy Memorial Hall in Taipei came from Rod Eime. Originally the complex was named Chiang kai-shek Memorial Hall but renamed in May 2007 which caused a lot of controversy. So on August 21, 2008 the original name was restored again and in July 2009 also the plaque of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall was reinstated.
