Amphitheatre of El Jem, Tunisia (UNESCO)

The Amphitheatre of El Jem in Tunisia was built in 238 by Proconsul Gordian and had room for 35,000 spectators. It was mainly used for gladiator games and chariot races.
In 1979 it was inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage list.
This great addition for my collection was sent by Jane Thomas.
