Absolutely gorgeous view of the Sao Paulo See Metropolitan Cathedral. Construction began in 1913 and it was finally consecrated in 1954.

Black Lake, Gramado, Brazil

This beautiful card was sent by my facebook friend Marcelo Liza and shows the Black Lake in the city of Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul. The name of the lake derives from the trees that came to this park from the "Schwarzwald" (Black Forest) in Germany. Lots of the citizens of that area are of German or Italian descent.
The city is one of the towns along the scenic route known as Rota Romantica.

This postcard I received for the Postcrossing UK & Ireland X OC RR from Gabriela. It shows the National Congrss in Brazil's capital city Brasilia. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was inscribed in 1987.

The city hall of Ipatinga was sent by Elton for the WiP Political Swap. Reading up on Wikipedia about this city made me smile, it was founded the year I was born. Nice to know there is a city out there in the world that is of the same age as I am :)

Gávea Rock and Barra Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Received during the holidays

From Elton came this wonderful card for the WiP G-Swap showing beautiful Barra Beach and the Gávea Rock. The rock is the world's largest monolith on a coastline with 842m above sea level.

Cordel Literature - Ano do Brasil na Franca - June 5, 2010

My first card from Helô Camolez, and I like it very much. It shows the Cordel Literature, a very traditional way of selling literature in Brazil. I read up on it on Wikipedia and found the info there very interesting! Loved the stamps too!
