Egypt Mapcard
Holiday greetings via postcard are so delightful :) This one was sent by my daughter and her family while on holidays in the beautiful country of Egypt. A few years ago I enjoyed a wonderful cruise from Luxor to Assuan, a dive into ancient history as well as a relaxing time on a great ship with company just as great. Last year I had the opportunity to visit the Pyramids and the breathtaking island named Giftun, an hour off the coast near Hurghada. So this mapcard brings back a whole lot of cherished memories.
Thank you Carina !

Egypt
Great images of a wonderful country. The temples and monuments are absolutely breathtaking and walking around in them was totally overwhelming. Hopefully peace and harmony will soon return to this awesome country.
This card was sent by Juliane and Philipp Staar to their parents who gave it to me for my collection :)

Saint Catherine's Monastery, Egypt (UNESCO)
This postcard was sent by my parents from their cruise to the United Arabian Emirates. On their way there they visited this awesome UNESCO Site on Mount Sinai. According to UNESCO the St. Catherine's Monastery is one of the oldest operating Christian monasteries of the world. The oldest records of monastic life on the Sinai are from the travel journal of a woman named Egeria 381-384. The site is sacred to Christians and Muslims alike. Within the compound of the monastery there is also a mosque which was never used though, as it is not exactly oriented towards Mecca.
