Upper Harz Water Management System, Lower Saxony, Germany (UNESCO)

The numerous dams, reservoirs and waterways of the Upper Harz Water Management System were mostly built between the 16th and 19th century to drive the water wheels of the mines in the area. In July 2010 the water system was decleared a UNESCO World Heritage and I was happy to get to visit the area.
