Olympia, Palaestra, Greece

The remains of the Palaestra at ancient Olympia, Greece, the site of the first Olympic games which were held in honour of Zeus. Over the centuries the site was buried under alluvial deposits and in 1766 it was discovered by Richard Chandler, an English antiquarian but it took till 1829 that the excavations finally began, carried out by the French.
My parents sent me this great card when cruising the Mediterranean.
