Hazard, Kentucky, USA

John James Basso sent me this bird's eye view of Hazard in Kentucky. The city was founded by settler Elijah Combs Sr in 1824 and was named after U.S. Navy Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry. The surrounding mountains kept Hazard rather isolated until 1912 when the railroad reached the city and thus opened it to the outside world.
