The
Water Tower in Chicago was built in 1869 and is 47 m tall. Inside was a 42 m high standpipe to hold water. The tower was not only used for firefighting but through the pipe it was also used to regulate water surges. Here it is surrounded by a layer of freshly fallen snow and trees decorated with Christmas lights.
The card was sent by Kristen Schuster for a Yahoo Groups swap.
