Habib Bourguiba Mausoleum, Monastir, Tunisia

This card shows the beautiful Mausoleum of Tunisias first president Habib Bourguiba in Monastir. Even though he was not freely elected by the people he is still seen as the father of modern state of Tunisia.  He ruled the country for 30 years and was then replaced by his successor and placed under arrest at his home. Lots of streets, avenues and places were named after him as a sign of gratitude.
The card was sent by Elke,  a former collegue of mine
