Canal du Midi, France (UNESCO)

A wonderful new addition for my UNESCO collection sent by Jean-Michel Ermide for the WiP Freshwater Swap.
The Canal du Midi is a 360 km long network of navigable waterways connecting the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean. It was built in the 17th century by Pierre-Paul Riquet and paved the way for the industrial revolution. It was inscribed into the UNESCO List in 1996
