Skellig Michael, Ireland (UNESCO)

The Skellig Michael is one of the few Irish UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It was inscribed in 1996. A Christian monastery was founded on the island but the date of the foundation is unknown and historians assume that it took place between the 6th and the 8th century. The monastery was continuously occupied until it was abandonned in the 12th century.
This beautiful card was sent by Brian Kavanagh for the WiP Lottery Game.
