Sarmizegetusa Regia, Romania (UNESCO)
A new UNESCO World Heritage Site for my collection: Sarmizegetusa Regia, which is part of the UNESCO Site Dacian Fortresses of the Orastie Mountains. Sarmizegetusa Regia was not only the captial city of the Dacians but also their military, cultural and religous center. The defensive fortress is located on a 1.200 m high mountain. Together with 5 other Dacian fortresses Sarmizegetusa Regia was inscribed into the UNESCO list in 1999.
The postcard was sent by Raluca Marila for the WiP UNESCO Swap.
