Issyk Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan

Issyk Kul is a lake in eastern Kyrgyzstan. Its name means Hot Lake and comes from the fact that even though it is surrounded by snow capped mountains, it never freezes. By volume it is the 10th biggest lake in the world and after the Caspian Sea the second biggest saline lake. It is very popular with tourists and along the northern shore a lot of hotels, resorts and holiday homes can be found.
The card was sent by JoInHanoi for the Postcrossing "Hard to get countries" tag.
