The Chiemsee is a feshwater lake in Bavaria and is nicknamed the Bavarian Sea. It is about 10.000 years old and thus a remnant of the latest ice age. It is also famous for the Palace Herrenchiemsee, built by King Ludwig II, which is located on one of the two islands in the lake.
This mapcard I sent home to my parents to be added to my mapcard collection.
