Fort Necessity National Battlefield, Farmington, USA

An older card but nonetheless nice and dear to me. Bonnie Jeanne Tibbets sent it to me a few years ago. On July 3, 1754 one of the earlier battles of the French/Indian War happened Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Elements of the battle are preserved in Fort Necessity. The postcard shows the interior of Mount Washington Tavern, a classic example of the inns along the National Road.

The Lewis and Clark postage also has a local connection. Their expedition to explore the northwest started in Pittsburgh, where I now live :-)
