This beautiful postcard was sent by Raluca Marila for the WiP ABC Letter P Swap and shows the Convent or Monastery of Prislop. The Monastery was apparantly built in the 14th century. In 1564 Princess Zamfira ordered major repairs. After her death she was entombed in the convent. In 1959 it was closed down and monastic life resumed there in 1976. The gardens around the convent are very beautiful.
