Castle Croy, Netherlands
This beautiful card of Castle Croy in the province of North Babrant in the Netherlands was sent by Helma for the Postcrossing UK&Ireland x OC Round Robin. There is not much known about this castle. Its origins go back to the 15th century. It was last in use as a home for elderly people, as stated in the will of the last owner, a Lady van der Brugghen who passed away in 1873. The fire saftey wasn't up to modern standards though, and so the home for the elderly was moved out again in 1977.
